Hello Vince,
Oh I know it’s taken me a while to answer this question, I apologise, I’ve been doing a bit of swimming.
Two other people have swum the Alenuihaha Channel they are, Harry Huffaker in 1970 and Linda Kaiser in September 2009.
Here’s the link to the Hawaii Channels crossings lists http://www.hawaiiswim.org/hawaiianChannel/AlenuihahaChannel.html
Happy swimming – Penny.

I was wondering if you (Penny) are the only person to have crossed the Alenuihaha channel? I read recently in a Hawaiian Airlines mag that no one had crossed it and the most recent attempt ended with bite from a cookie-cutter shark.

Hey guys, congratulations on another successful crossing! From the sounds of things it was a pretty enjoyable one. You should have stuck around for a third(or fourth?) crossing to ensure some up-close encounters with the whales. From you description in this and the other swims i think i may have to make a trip to Hawaii in the upcoming years!
Good luck with the preparations for Manhattan, i look forward to reading about it.
Coming to you from the lake/ocean scarce highlands of Ecuador!
